This 2-4 player Fief controlling game is cute. From the tiny plastic bunnies to the cartoony and amusing card art, BUNNY KINGDOM sets out that it’s a fun game.

But beneath that colourful outer layer, there is a little bit of cutthroat to be found.

🎲

The game is divided into four scoring rounds. Each of the ten turns in a round sees players drafting cards and passing the rest on.

Cards are either one of the 100 territories on the board, a city or resources, or a Parchment card for end game scoring.

As the game goes on, you’ll realise that it’s not just what you want, but what you don’t want other players to have. It’s important to watch what others are doing.

Territories link up and form the Fief’s. When combined with different resources (carrots, wood, fish, etc) and multiplied by city turrets, you get your score.

🎲

The first round won’t see you reach double figures, but by the fourth round you’ll hopefully cross 100.

Players will get in your way, and at 4-player the board will get crowded quickly. But you can always do something.

Parchment cards in particular are great for giving you a little direction in your strategy, as well as throwing down some nice surprise points at game end.

The game itself is simple to teach. It really is just quick card drafting followed by the reveal.

🎲

Perhaps for a newcomer, some of the terminology on the Parchment cards can be confusing.

And when it comes to scoring on a busy board it can hurt your eyes trying to pick out the bunny colours and resource symbols.

BUNNY KINGDOM also plays a little differently at 2. More space on the board and cards being discarded from the game each turn. But it still plays well.

BUNNY KINGDOM is cute, thinky, and a lot of fun to play. It can look busy, but once the mechanics and scoring rules click it flows really well.
