LEGENDARY FORESTS is a colour matching tile laying game that plays for 2-5 players in about 15 minutes. There are three colours in the forest, and each tile is made up of a mix or all of these colours. You can only place tiles if the touching edges match colour. At various points in the game you will take a tree and place it in the matching colour. This becomes your scoring mechanism for the end game, and it then becomes all about completing runes and enclosing areas of the forest by colour.

This game has a lot going for it. It’s quick and relaxing, making it a perfect opener, or perhaps pallette cleanser between bigger games. Because the turns are simultaneous, the game length is the same, no matter the player count. And it’s really easy to teach, meaning non-regular gamers can pick it up too.

There can be a little unnecessary analysis paralysis going into the second half of the game, when some players are trying to see where their best scoring zones are, especially if the tiles aren’t working out for them.

And the game doesn’t involve too much in the way of tactics, if that’s what you are looking for. It really is a relaxing game where you just take the tile you’re dealt and place it. It’s not on rails, but it’s too short to really plan anything much.

Nothing available. The game doesn’t really have or need anything added.

LEGENDARY FORESTS plays well at all of its player counts as it really is a solo multiplayer game. You’re focused on your own tile building area and there’s no way to interact with other players other than claiming trees first.
